If you’re looking for a naturopathic doctor in Kelowna, look no further! Whether you’re interested in seeing a naturopathic doctor for the first time or you’re looking for someone new, I work with teenagers and adult patients of all ages and lifestyles, and I’m looking forward to helping you reach your goals.
I regularly treat people who are 25 and people who are 50. This includes athletes and business professionals – really anyone who’s willing to put an investment into their health. Because let’s be real, you can’t just take a pill in order for all of your problems to go away. I wish it was that easy… but it’s not.
I work at Valeo Health Clinic at 1726 Dolphin Avenue in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. Valeo is a special place compared to other clinics because it’s a multi-disciplinary clinic.
In other words, it means that if you require chiropractic care, massage therapy, physiotherapy or kinesiology services, I can make referrals easily when needed. In short, it means you can stay in one place if you require different methods to treat pain.
What do I do?
I am a licenced naturopathic doctor in Kelowna. My work consists in focusing on natural healing powers to improve my patient’s health. I am passionate about natural substances and how they can be used to change and improve the way that the human body works.
Each of my patients comes to me with different goals and problems. This is the reason why my treatment plans are individualized to meet different needs.
Instead of just prescribing a harsh medication to treat your chronic pain, I like to address things naturally when possible. My services include treating:
- Acute and chronic pain
- Digestive health
- Low thyroid
- Hormone imbalances
- Menstruation and menopause
- Difficulty sleeping
- Low energy, and more.
So, how do I help you? Depending on why you’re visiting me, I will work with you and help you by using a unique approach to address to your health. In order to determine the best plan for you, I will:
- Conduct through lab tests
- Check if you are needing supplements
- Understand your lifestyle and diet changes
With this information at hand, then I can give you:
- IV therapy and vitamin injections
- Prolotherapy and platelet rich plasma injections
- Micro-needling facials
- Therapeutic and cosmetic Botox and prescriptions if needed.
As naturopathic medicine focuses on nature, it aims to support your body’s natural ways of healing.
Different Therapies and Practices Used by Naturopathic Doctor in Kelowna
Looking at IV therapy and vitamin injections, these are safe ways to deliver high quality vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino acids to the body. These injections bypass digestion, giving your body the ability to better utilize and absorb them.
Secondly, when I’m practicing prolotherapy and platelet rich plasma injections, I’m providing my patient with regenerative therapy. Prolotherapy specifically uses a sugar solution that targets the ligaments and tendons, irritating them in order to strengthen and repair them.
As for platelet rich plasma injections, these use your own blood to stimulate healing – I regularly use these injections for patients suffering from acute and chronic pain.
Next, if one of my patients comes to me and wants to get rid of wrinkles in the upper and lower areas of their face; then I would use cosmetic Botox to treat them. It’s good to mention here that Botox is also good to prevent wrinkles from occurring overall.
Alternative Uses of Medicine
On the other hand, Botox can also be used to treat certain pains. This is called therapeutic Botox which targets migraines, jaw pain, TMJ dysfunction and excess sweating. Another common practice that I use is called micro-needling facials.
These use a micro-needling device which creates microtrauma and stimulates your face’s collagen production. This practice brightens complexion, improves texture, reduces the size of pores, and target fine lines and scars. These use hyaluronic acid and platelet rich plasma – your own blood.
Next, a traditional Chinese practice that has been adopted by naturopaths is acupuncture. I commonly use this to treat an underlying problem often associated with stress, anxiety and pain. Lastly, I have prescriptive authority which means I can write my clients a prescription if they require one.
As a certified naturopathic doctor, I blend traditional forms of medicine with modern knowledge and natural substances, and I continue to grow my knowledge as the world of medicine evolves, to ensure all my patients receive what they need.
Anyone can benefit from a naturopathic doctor
I would like to point out that you can also visit a naturopathic doctor if you’re just looking to promote your health. It’s not always about targeting an existing problem, it can be preventing the problems before they arise.
It’s common for people to visit me if they are looking to prevent disease and just improve their overall life. My collaborative treatment plans and practices can help you reach your best you, even if you’re not experiencing stress, pain or anything else of worry.
As naturopathic medicine continues to gain popularity, more people are reaping the benefits, and as the world continues to evolve and research reveals the harsh realities of traditional medicine methods, more people want natural focused health care. I remember back in post-secondary I thought about becoming a pharmacist because I was intrigued at how taking something could change how a person’s body would operate.
But then I realized I didn’t want to just count pills all day so when I discovered what naturopathic medicine was, I knew that I wanted to be a part of this world and use natural medicines to improve and change how the body works.
A patient’s needs should be addressed from the root cause and through individual plans. Like I said earlier, you can’t just take a pill and all of your problems will disappear. So, if you’re thinking about visiting a naturopathic doctor here in Kelowna, please reach out to me and we can get started.
